Growth is when we all stand together, growth is when people turn up irrespective of their societal and economical status and work collectively to boost productivity and economy of the country. As Rabindranath Tagore rightly stated that “The significance which is in unity is an eternal wonder”, this when hold into practice brings exponential change in a country’s development scenario. India, a diverse country, a country where vast stretches of land lays to be termed and categorised as “Rural India”, that very part of the country which is void of advancements as and when compared to their urban counterparts. Here comes the need of escalating these people to modernisation, escorting them to all the privileges that their counterparts enjoy and most importantly to empower them so that they can be a contributing factor to country’s growth in every sense.

Unity can’t be achieved by mere declarations, unity can be achieved by compassion and will and groups like Arpan Seva Sansthan are working relentlessly to uplift the condition of the rural Indians. Arpan Seva Sansthan is a non – profit organization, registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act 1958, was brought up in shape on 29th March 1996. It was formed by a team of young professionals who had the dedication & commitment to serve rural community and bring about positive societal change. Dr. Subh Karan Singh and his colleagues during their bachelor degree in agricultural engineering understood the need for development i.e. “the process improving the conditions and prospects” of rural community. They formed a team with a belief that through their own initiative they can better full fill their potential by working together, and thereby reduce the opportunity gap that exists between the advantaged and the disadvantages in society. Their vision is to promote processes which are sustainable, socially inclusive and equitable to enable critical masses of poor and marginalized rural people or communities to achieve a dignified quality of life alongside implementing sustainable programs that improve the livelihoods of rural community through participatory approach. Strategically with defined family focused & need based approach, the team works in interior backward tribal area of Udaipur, Dungarpur and Banswara to develop linkages with rural societies and to identify the basic developmental issues. All the exercises are performed through a series of meetings, awareness campaigns, which resulted the team for one to one touch to 3000 tribal families in these districts. Natural Resource management, livelihood enhancement, drinking water and sanitation, community-based organisations, health and hygiene, research studies are the primary domains where this NGO focuses on.  Developing and managing water resources ensuring the security of drinking water alongside devising proper sanitation measures so as to maintain a good health condition of the people is what the team relentlessly works.  From the initial state they take into consideration the words of the community members so that the team is close to ground reality and helps them in the long run. The organization is involved in study of 8 watersheds for 8 States of India. The project was funded by ICEF through WASSAN, Hyderabad based organization. ARPAN was also involved in Mid Term Evaluation of watershed project sponsored by Ministry of rural development and Ministry of Agriculture. Recently this organization has involved in midterm evaluation of watershed project of the 5 NWDPRA watershed project under 10th Phase. This evaluation conducted by ARAVALI in 13 watershed projects in Rajasthan.

Making Arpan different from the others is their very strategic policy and fundamentals that they believe and follow, right from Systematized Recruitment System to having a HR Department for the administrative purpose, parallel to every functionalities goes internal training and development along with giving the employees attractive perks. Surpassing the fact of perks the goal to contribute to the society and make country take steps towards progress is what keeps the workforce integrated.  Through the years Arpan Seva Sansthan have contributed in bringing significant change in the domestic image and are working hard to add tons more to their achievement list.
