‘The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things’
Proper education creates path for better future and makes us strong mentally, socially and intellectually by increasing our knowledge and understanding of various aspects of life. Citizens of the country become responsible for the better future and development of the country. Highly educated people become the base of the developed country. So, proper education makes the future of both, the individual and the country. It is only educated leaders who build the nation and lead it to the height of success and progress. Education makes people as perfect and noble as possible.
SShrishti, which means creation, is a non-governmental organization registered as a trust in 2003 started in the living room of its founder, Ms. Sanghamitra Bose. The organization continued to function there for almost a year, providing informal education for 50 – 60 children daily, after which it moved to its first rented premises in September of the following year. The good work started small but managed to make overwhelming impact on the society. Sshrshti's beneficiaries cover states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, and hopes to cover many more areas in the coming years. Today there are centres offering education for the children, digital literacy in remote areas, and for education and vocational training for women. The team at Sshrishti strongly believes that a solid foundation for the early years is essential for a child to continue in the path of learning, thereby unlocking their potential and realizing their dreams. Sshrishti’s classrooms are hubs of joyous and creative activities that provide doors for growth and development and equality.
Sshrishti attempts, through its initiatives in digital literacy to provide elementary and advanced training in computer applications to those who miss out India’s digital revolution and its benefits in the areas of communication and employability. The programme started in 2008 in village Surana in Rajasthan and has covered villages in the Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The program has helped to empower and educate women who are underprivileged so that they could stand on their feet independently and make a life away from their poor situation.
Apart from this, Sshrishti has opened Child Care and Rehabilitation Centre for Adoption, Child & Parents Guidance Center named ‘KHUSHI’, Early Intervention Center named Aakar, Documentation, Training and Research Center named DoTReC. Other programmes include Urban Women Empowerment Programmes, Balikashram - Sanpada Project and Vanaprasthashram - Sanpada Project, all aiming towards the betterment of the most disadvantaged sector of society. Through the hard and persistent work, the NGO has changed lives of many individuals to success stories, turning frowns upside down.
Sshrishti is enjoying accreditation from both within India and abroad, including the Credibility Alliance and Give India.
It has been truly said that "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself."
